Kate Spade released Chérie in 2023. I’ve actually had it just about two years now and I’m very close to finishing up the bottle!

I received it as a gift from my mom, she was so excited to give it to me. During that time I was really into super sweet gourmand fragrances. Admittedly I wasn’t reaching for it much at first.

I vividly remember one really hot day where I needed to spray something before going out. It was either Chérie or Arabians Tonka by Montale (NOT a light scent btw lol) . The dry summer heat really amplified this scent for me. It has a bit of a musky note which grounds the sparkling nature of the fruit and florals layered within the smell. I didn’t like the musk at first but I see it helps balance out the other notes.

I wrote on my Instagram post that this perfume is “like a perfume version of a juicy tart sparkling water” . You’re probably like “What?” – Well think of a fruity La Croix. There is a fruity berry taste but not overwhelmingly sweet.

I wonder what this perfume would have smelled like if they added another sweet note and dialed back on the musky note. The jasmine is a nice touch though!

I don’t see myself buying another bottle soon, but I really enjoyed my two years with this scent. I grew to love this scent on hotter days when I don’t want a light or clean smell. I want something fruity and delightful.

I think this is a great option for a younger adult or teen looking to dive into perfume. It’s easy to wear, not overpowering and versatile! Ideally if their birthday is during the warmer months so they can just spray this and go about their day. It doesn’t have a really long lasting power but the smell is so nice once it’s on your skin for a bit.

Here’s to my Mama who picked this perfume out for me! That day she was so happy to give it to me. In some way it must of have reminded her of me. It just means so much to me. It’s just one of those mother, daughter things where you love an object so much because you think of your mom!

Next perfume on my wishlist is Miutine by Miu Miu, but I have A LOT of perfume to finish. I just smelled it in Sephora though, I was obsessed very quickly lol.
