Swatched It! MAC Alone Time and Signature Move

Alone time is going double platinum in the Mac lipstick world. I’ve seen it sold out on Ulta, MAC, even Tik Tok Shop???

Both lipsticks are from MAC’s lustreglass lipstick line, and they are in that soft, muted neutral color family.

I’ve had both since the first release and have used them heavily, the lustreglass formula makes it so easy to just keep applying and applying and applying. It’s no-friction, soft feel is completely addictive. Now, it’s not going to stay a very long time but that is not an issue for me. I actually prefer it that way.

Don’t talk to me when I’m wearing Alone Time! Because you’ll get the posh, snobby version of me! It’s a vibe, I can’t explain it. Unique and mysterious and I can’t get enough. Matter of fact- let’s get all shades like this to the front so I can try them all.

Warm with a tantalizing touch. Signature Move is soft, giving you true autumn. Great option if you want a color that is a bit darker without going too bold. It might catch someone’s eye but it’s really a supporting character to your makeup look. Love. Her.

Well let’s all cry because these lipsticks are $27 each… Like truly crying, you mean you will need to spend like $54 (without taxes even considered..) to get these coveted colors??

First….. As a shopaholic.. No.. you must be patient and wait for a MAC sale… sign up for notifications. I mean idk when they go on sale… but they WILL go on sale… Of course it may be a bit of risky game (especially with limited edition shades – don’t play with those if you really like something).

Second, I have a two somewhat okay dupes for both of these shades. So if you are looking to save a bit of money here is what I have for you to consider.

Yum.. Like oh my god yum yum yum. These two shades? True magic to me. Alone time is sheer, leaning towards that mauvy-brown. Laka’s shade Boy? …. A deper cool toned, cloudy Raisin-esque shade. The slightly edgier sister of Alone Time.

These are very close shades in my eyes. Laka is cooler and more pigmented, yes, but you can sheer it out. As far as I know it’s as close as you can get for a dupe. The price at most places seems to be around $16, the formula? Damn near the same. Seriously. If I am being picky, Mac’s lustreglass formula does have a bit more “slip”. It feels slightly more oily.

K-Beauty formulas are amazing though, I mean such good quality, great prices as well. I cannot forget to mention the attention to detail in their packaging. Laka is a wonderful lippie brand, I would love to pick up more of their items. I’m happy to say I have never been disappointed by the products I have from them.

Kiko’s Smart Fusion Lipstick in shade 433 Light Rosy Brown was the first lipstick that came to mind when I was looking for a dupe. They are definitely about the same depth but Signature Move has more warmth. Kiko 433 is way more neutral, plus the formula is different, it’s not as sheer or glossy. The more I looked at Light Rosy Brown though I was like “something is telling me to compare it right next to Alone Time”

Both lipsticks are very muted and neutral. Light Rosy Brown is more beige and more warm though. This makes it a great option for those who felt like Alone Time was way too cool toned, but Signature move is a tad too warm. So if you’re looking for de-saturated brown to give that mod elegant vibe without going too cool toned or “zombie” like on you. Kiko might be your answer. ALSO IT’S $8!!!!!!!!!!

I actually heard people say they looked “Cold” or ” dead” when trying on Alone Time. Which, it just sucks to feel that way, especially when you see everyone else posting about how great of shade it is like?…. Like damn….

I was devastated when I first tried it on as well because I felt the same way, but gosh. It just grew on me? Now I am so obsessed with how it looks on me. I also love Laka’s shade “Boy” so much. It has that same type of cool toned vibe that I love. Cool toned anything has been super trendy lately but I…. I’m.. I’m 100% on that cool-toned bandwagon!!

Do you think Alone Time is over hyped ? I don’t think so, but I hope it’s letting beauty brands know, we need the cool toned everything!

I love the lustreglass formula so much. Damn its $27 for one but it feels SO nice on my lips…
