Swatched It! MAC “Underslept” – A Gem in the Newest Nocturna collection

I’m here to inform you that yes I am obsessed with “Underslept” from MAC’s newest Nocturna Collection.

It’s now sold out on Nordstrom and the MAC website. For good reason she is actually a perfect pinky nude on me. It’s exactly what I look for when I am shopping for pale nudes (crazy, crazy words I just typed out if we didn’t have context!!)

For reference my most used lipsticks in this shade range are “Blazed Donut” by Fenty Beauty, “Fairest Nude” by L’Oreal, “Nude Venus” by Pat McGrath, and “Creme Cup” by Mac.

Technically this lipstick is “Fleshpot” but in a matte formula. I don’t really know MAC lore like that. What I do know is Fleshpot is an iconic shade and it has gone through some subtle shade changes. From what I have seen – OG MAC lovers are pro at catching the difference , but this shade seems to be a winner compared to past re-releases.

Which is why I was extremely lucky to have found it! It’s currently sold out because of the wave of popularity. The collection had just released when I saw a TikTok of someone swatching it. I watched it just before I went to the mall. Naturally, I immediately popped into the MAC store to see whats up.

On the Nocturna display it said “Fleshpot” but the packaging said “Underslept” – I was like ok, ok. I’m observing, I’m respecting, I’m.. Putting it immediately in my basket. Walking straight to the counter to buy…

Trotted over to my car, swatched it and immediately took several deep breaths

I am so in love with the pinkish cool tone. I don’t see any peach in this color. This is a fantastic shade for so many skin tones. Especially if you are olive (which I presume I am a neutral olive skin tone, needs further testing though).

It is a limited edition release so I do need to get a back up. I have seen it restocked at Nordstrom randomly. So, if you are really committed, I truly believe you can snag it in time before they stop making it. Knowing the popularity of this shade, I am hopeful that they will let this collection run longer. That way more people can try it out for themselves.

I will need to get a backup once it restocks because it’s been on my lips 24/7. I would say my only gripe with this lipstick is the packaging. I am not a fan of this blue and red combo? It doesn’t scream Nocturna for me. In my head I am thinking evening or dusk colors. Like a gorgeous dusty purple to gunmetal gray.

Despite that, I would love to try out the WHOLE line. The Nocturna Eye + Face Pallet in particular.. I’m so obsessed with those shades. I’m just going save up and hope I can grab it in time! Including the Eye pencil in “Nightstone”.

Like this and a damn sexy smokey eye?? Yes please!!
